1918réf. 2153New York: George Sully Publisher 1918. Edward P COGGER . JUVENILE POETRY HUMOR. OCLC locates 4 copies. Dr. Heinrich Hoffmann 1809-1894 was a German psychiatrist best known for his children's book Struwwelpeter a humorous look at children's behavior and manners. The illustrator and engraver are not identified but may be Edward P. Cogger who was responsible for the artwork in Struwwelpeter. The humorous poems begin with "Jimmy Sliderlegs" the boy who slid down banisters and wore out his pants. Other included poems: Envious Minny; The History of the Dirty Child; Cruel Paul; Slovenly Betsy; Phoebe Ann The Proud Girl; Discontented Lucy; Idle Fritz; Simple Hans; Heedless Hugo; The Night Wanderer; Ned The Toy-Breaker; Prying Will; The Little Glutton; Tom Bogus The Sweet-Tooth; Harry Cobus and the Shang-Hais; The History of Doctor Wango Tango; and The Tragical Story of Mamy Katchem and Her Kittens. Text in German and English. 248 pp. With 157 ills. 16 col. . 25 x 29 cm. -- with a bonus offer--; According to Magnum photographer Eugene Richards American-born Paris-based photographer Jerry Berndt goes somewhere and makes you feel what it felt like not just what it looked like." Over the course of his four-decade-plus career in photography Berndt has erased the routine divide between spontaneous documentary photography and Conceptual artwork. Berndt first achieved public acclaim with his now-famous work Combat Zone 1967-1970 which documented life in Boston's red-light district. At the beginning of the 1970s Berndt pitched commercial iconography of the day-to-day world against the psychology of nocturnal moods with the project Nite Works a series of night-time shots of American and European cities. With his documentations of the anti-Vietnam War movement and of homelessness in America in the early 1980s Berndt put his finger on the unresolved conflicts of his country and photographed them unflinchingly always cutting directly to the emotional content of the subject at hand. Gathering these numerous projects Insight surveys Berndt's work from the 1960s to the 1980s--in single images sequences and series and almost exclusively in black-and-white." . 2008. 3865217257 .
