De titel kan worden vertaald als: Fysisch-medische verhandeling over de werkzaamheid van een aftreksel van veronica te verkiezen boven het theekruid. Een contemporaine lijst van Hoffmanns medische disputaties bevestigt de uitgave in 1694 en noemt Sattler als respondent.Hoffmann en Settler stellen een inheemse Europese plant tegenover de toen nog exotische en kostbare Chinese thee. De verhandeling opent met kritiek op de gewoonte van Europeanen en vooral Duitsers om verre en exotische producten hoger te waarderen dan hun eigen vaak minstens zo bruikbare inheemse middelen.
