1971 · ref. acs1138 — London: Allan Wingate 1971. Octavo navy blue cloth hardcover gilt lettering 191 pp. Very Good in a Very Good mylar protected dust jacket. From dust jacket: This is the first account deadly true of the suspected treachery of Christiaan Lindemans a young member of the Dutch resistance movement under the German occupation of Holland. Many people with long memories will recall the fantastic glider landings well behind the German lines with Field Marshal Lord Montgomery’s second army thrusting along a single road to link up with them. The landings became a massacre and Montgomery ran into a totally unsuspected and fresh panzer division which threatened to cut his road behind him so that he had to turn and fight his way back. This classic failure lengthened the war by almost a year and gave the Germans time to remount their V1 rockets for the bombardment of London. At long last here is the truth of it!
