Fictionalized versions of Billy the Kid and Doc Holiday fight over the attentions of a feisty young woman. After a brief run in San Francisco drew protests over the film's suggestive content and advertising the film was withdrawn. It wouldn't see a wide release until 1946 where despite still being subject to censorship by local film boards and a lawsuit over censors withdrawing their approval it became a tremendous box office success finally launching Russell's acting career.
