1960rif. 5695Hungary: N.P. C1960. First edition. A lovely hand made piece of philatelic art or timbromanie. The collage depicts a Chinese court scene with two figures in traditional Han-dynasty style robes in a garden courtyard. Looking closely at the piece you can see that it is composed almost entirely of Magyar Posta items. In a cut out stamp to the top right is the title "Four Seasons." That would suggest that this piece with the white background is the Winter scene. The stamps in particular the green series featuring portraits/figures is consistent with Hungarian stamp issues from the 1950s–1960s. The background is a cream silk. The whole is bordered with silver foil and has a border of textured silk. There is a touch of darkening to the top left of the border. Overall though in excellent condition. The silk collage is pasted onto a backing card. This is a little darkened but sound. Image is 29cm x 21cm. The frame is 37.5cm x 29cm. A lovely piece of philatelic folk art. . L'image mesure 29 cm x 21 cm. Le cadre mesure 375 cm x 29 cm. Une ravissante œuvre d'art populaire philatélique. N.P. unknown
