2025réf. 010385DISTANZ Verlag Berlin 2025 2025. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Fine/No Jacket. 1st ed. 1st printing ; 79 pages : color illustrations; 26 cm 7.87 x 9.96 inches OCLC 1610468090 ISBN 9783954768219 3954768216 ; brown boards ; no dustjacket ; Natia Lemay works across painting and sculpture to consider how atmospheric inheritances shape our relationships to bodies objects space and place. Moving between interior and geographical sites her work attends to the conditions that gather around us and the ways they alter how we perceive occupy and move through space. Light becomes a form of orientation within the work revealing what is present what has been and what might still be there. Black is both material and atmosphere within Lemay's paintings. Built through an evolving collection of more than forty chromatic blacks in oil and acrylic the surfaces shift between matte and gloss opacity and luminosity texture glazes and washes. Colour is largely held within the skin of the figures while black constructs the spaces around them. Rather than functioning as darkness or void black becomes active and mutable absorbing and reflecting light while allowing forms to emerge recede and change according to the viewer's position. ; Xavier Daniels paints against erasure. His work stands as a counterpoint to the persistent misrepresentations and silences surrounding the male experience reclaiming spaces where tenderness vulnerability and full humanity are often denied. His process merges the discipline of traditional realism with the freedom of abstraction. Working in oil and acrylic meticulous figuration fuses with gestural brushwork complex textures and carefully weighted fields of color. Figures emerge from swirls of earthen tones soft pastels and neutral grays punctuated by bursts of royal purple or other saturated hues that act as symbols of inner dignity and resilience. His compositions often place the figure within expanses of negative space using absence as a visual echo an allusion to what has been overlooked unspoken or lost. Daniels draws from his own life from relationships forged in brotherhood and from the communities that raised and sustained him. His paintings are not imagined ideals. They are lived realities that resist the reductive roles society assigns those of athlete absentee or criminal roles that limit both perception and possibility. ; Devon Pryce is an artist currently based in Toronto. He completed his BFA in Drawing and Painting from OCAD University. Devon's work incorporates painting digital concepts and cinematic themes. His work explores issues of anxiety the mundane and displacement. ; Kimberli Grant isCurator of Modern & Contemporary at Brookly Museum. ; FINE DISTANZ Verlag, Berlin, 2025 hardcover
réf. 147939N.p.: N.p. 1974. Collection of twelve vintage double weight photographs two vintage black and white photographs and two vintage borderless color photographs of David Bowie performing onstage as part of the Diamond Dogs Tour in 1974. With the stamp of photographer Duana LeMay on the verso. A concert tour in support of Bowie's 1974 album of the same name considered by some to be the musician's farewell to glam rock heavily influenced by George Orwell's post-apocalyptic novel "Nineteen Eighty-Four." The tour was purportedly difficult in part due to the enormous cost and technical issues associated with the intricate set and props required for each show executed by legendary set designer Mark Ravitz and in part due to Bowie's growing dependence on cocaine. In its original incarnation the tour lasted two months before the baroque set was abandoned and the name changed to "The Soul Tour." 8 x 10 inches. Very Good plus with some faint soil. N.p. unknown
