2014This compendium of papers, presented at a International Conference, organised by the Institute of Journalism and Mass Communication, Mangalayatan University, attempts to address the critical issues concerning civic challenges, democracy and media. Analysing the role of diverse media contents in democracy, it discusses at length the political benefits and inconvenience of electronic media, freedom of expression, problems faced by print as well as electronic media, role of media in the 21st century Indian society and the challenges of sustainable democracy.
