These documents trace the rapid evolution of the French Revolution between 1789 and 1791 recording the Third Estate's rise to power the birth and legislative actions of the National Assembly and the immediate political and societal collapse of the absolute monarchy. Moderately worn and lightly age toned with some small stains on the first page. Pencil year "89" written below title. Ostensibly written by Raynal in late 1790 as he became disillusioned by the prospect of increasing revolutionary violence this letter was read before the Assembly in May of 1791. It was nearly universally regarded as being imprudently timed and Raynal spent the next five years "in retirement". It has been determined that the letter is largely the work of the Comte de Guibert.
