Octavo paperbound stiff brown illus. stapled wrappers 44 pp. Near-Fine with slight rubbing along edges. From Foreword: Now. in this volume we are pleased to present the tale of British West Florida Pensacola under its third flag. In the preparation we have tried to provide information that will be of value to others in planning for the 1976 bi-centennial celebration; the booklet is being released a year early for that purpose and to help honor the opening of our second permanent office at Burgess Road and Davis Hwy. Our Association began in an historic time for PEnsacola; we have tried in many ways to project the image of the city yesterday and today and we hope that in these pages the reader will develop a new sense of the community’s mission. unknown books
1972réf. ess4979St. Petersburg FL: St. Petersburg Printing Company 1972. First Edition First Printing Stated. Octavo turqoise cloth hardcover gilt letters 159 pp. Fine in a Very Good dust jacket with light edgewear. From dust jacket: The Way It Happened written by one of the elder statesmen of the savings and loan business in the United States is a fascinating view of this important business from its early days through its growth to its currently dynamic position in the economy of contemporary America. Oscar R. Kreutz has written The Way It Happned from his personal experience not merely from objective observation. He began his study of the savings and loan business in late 1922 and became actively involved in early 1923. When Mr. Kreutz writes about such subjects as the slow-moving days o the ‘20s the Great Depression constituionality of Federal chartering the Los Angeles Bank and Long Beach Federal affair he knows whereof he speaks because he was there. When Mr. Kreutz writes about management methods that produce sound growth his record speaks for his qualifications. He organized an association when he was onlyu 25 years old. He was a founding director of a Federal Home Loan Bank in 1932 and later senoir vice president of another. He held key positions with the Federal Home Loan Bank Board in Washington for ten years. Currently Mr. Kreutz is chairman of the board of First Federal Savings and Loan Association of St. Petersburg Florida which grew more than $600 million after he joined it in 1953. Il introduit le concept de 'cercle vicieux de la pauvreté' où les faibles revenus entraînent une épargne et un investissement insuffisants perpétuant ainsi la stagnation économique. Le livre est issu de six conférences données à Rio de Janeiro en 1951
