Aside from pushing the firm itself, certain companies are especially touted: The Texas Company (Texaco); White Motors (Cars and Trucks); Philadelphia Company (Gas & Electric); Southern Pacific (Railroad); Stewart-Warner (Speedometers). They also push: General Motors; Lee Tires; Middle State Oil; Pennsylvania Railroad; and Pond Creek Coal. Surely this portfolio made money (at least up until the crash of 1929). A cool artifact of the pre-crash investment era. ECON 1 / 3
