2015br. Il volume è il risultato di un percorso politico e di ricerca iniziato durante il convegno "Senza tortura. Per uno Stato che non uccide" organizzato nel 2014 presso l'Università di Padova dal Master in "Criminologia Critica e Sicurezza Sociale. Devianza, Città e Politiche di Prevenzione", in collaborazione con l'Associazione Antigone e Ristretti Orizzonti. A partire dal clamore suscitato dai casi di "malapolizia" degli ultimi anni e dal dibattito scaturito dall'assenza del reato di tortura nel nostro codice penale, i contributi raccolti si propongono di analizzare e decostruire da diverse prospettive discorsi, giustificazioni e rappresentazioni istituzionali su tortura e gli abusi di polizia. Raccogliendo ricerche di stampo sociologico, psicologico e giuridico insieme a testimonianze dirette di attivisti/e e familiari delle vittime della violenza istituzionale, questo testo, unico in Italia per la sua trans-disciplinarietà e articolazione del tema, si propone non solo di offrire strumenti scientifici per comprendere il fenomeno e la sua diffusione nel contesto socio-politico e giuridico attuale, ma anche e soprattutto di rendere visibili e riproducibili le molteplici forme di resistenza soggettiva e collettiva che, negli ultimi anni, hanno dimostrato la possibilità concreta di agire contro l'impunità degli abusi delle forze dell'ordine e dei rappresentanti delle istituzioni totali nel corso delle loro funzioni.

2018Con le “Osservazioni sulla Tortura” Pietro Verri dà una spinta fondamentale al dibattito sette-ottocentesco sui delitti e sulle pene, nel cui solco si inserirà anche il Manzoni della Colonna Infame. In quest’opera Verri esamina per primo la vicenda dei processi agli untori durante la peste di Milano del 1630, proponendo una riflessione che favorisce una svolta decisiva nella cultura giuridica italiana. Il testo, composto a partire dal 1776, era stato pubblicato postumo solo nel 1804. Qui per la prima volta le Osservazioni sulla Tortura sono pubblicate in una edizione critica basata sul manoscritto autografo, accompagnata da un apparato diacronico genetico. Le varianti d’autore emerse attraverso lo studio dell’officina dell’autore permettono di seguire l’elaborazione del testo e il pensiero di Verri nelle diverse fasi della stesura. Conclude il volume una Nota al testo in cui sono descritti i testimoni, la datazione del lavoro di Verri e i criteri alla base dell’edizione. In Appendice è posta una sezione per presentare le varianti troppo estese per essere integrate nell’apparato. Autori: Pietro Verri. Curatori: Margherita De Blasi.
