While Mehmed Arif Bey was with Gazi Ahmed Muhtar Pasha, His work, which describes all the phases of the part of the 1877-1878 Ottoman-Russian War that occurred in Anatolia and the condition of the Turkish soldiers, was published in Egypt (Cairo) in 1321 (1903) first and in Istanbul in 1328 (1910) by his sons (Necmeddin & Celâleddin Arif). Mehmed Halid who started his writing and intellectual career with the encouragement of Fuad Köprülü and Yahya Kemal worked as the editor-in-chief of the journal "Düsünce" i.e. Thought 1922 which was published during the Armistice years and later "Anadolu Mecmuasi" i.e. The Anatolian Journal 1924-1925.
