Donovan and The CIA; A History of The Establishment of The CIA
1981Best.-Nr. 84081Frederick MD: Aletheia Books University Publications of America 1981. First Edition. Octavo. 26cm. Publisher's heavy grain blue cloth titled in gilt to spine and front board. Dustjacket. xvii; 589pp. Minor wear and scuffing to spine ends and corners strong and solid; internally clean illustrated throughout; In a clean and bright dustjacket that is perhaps 3mm too short for the book whether this was a publication issue or it has at some point been very professionally trimmed is unclear. A very good clean copy indeed. An unmistakeably important dense and highly detailed history of the history and development of the CIA from it's earliest days; from its post WW2 emergence out of the melting pot of the OSS via input from such peculiar and unexpected sources as Ian Fleming and Roald Dahl through to its present day ubiquity in all the shadowy corners of American endeavor.
