2022réf. ABE-1652448059551Snuggly Books 2022 VERY SCARCE INDEED. Only 100 copies printed; a very scarce classic long out of print is resurrected here after many years of only being available in The Belgravia a magazine edited by Elizabeth Braddon. The young author Ada Buisson was born in 1839. Just as she was experiencing success she died in 1866. This is a brilliant assembly of stories by a Victorian woman writer of huge promise. Issued in this hardback limited edition without a jacket which features a George Cruikshank design on the front cover board. Limited Edition. Hardcover. New. Snuggly Books hardcover
1979A clean, unmarked book with a tight binding. 26 pages. 8 3/8"w x 11"h. Black and white illustrations.
1980Book is in excellent condition in every respect with black cloth HB covers. Binding is solid and square, covers have sharp corners, exterior shows no blemishes, text/interior is clean and free of marking of any kind. Dust jacket has edge wear at top edge, small tears, general scuffing. 225 pages with a great many b&w illustrations, photos, floor plans, elevations, details.
19468vo., First English Edition, neat contemporary signature on front free endpaper; original red cloth, gilt back, a very good, clean copy in unclipped dustwrapper, the latter lightly chafed at head and tail of backstrip (just affecting lettering at tail) and a little browned on (predominantly white) rear panel. The first English edition of the first English translation of the Danish novel 'Gengaeldelsens Veje', written by Karen Blixen (as Pierre Andrezel) during the Nazi occupation of Denmark in 1944. In the English edition the 'author' is provided with a plausible biography (and even a portrait photograph). He 'is described as a young Frenchman, born in Rouen 1915, and educated at Oxford where he wrote stories for English magazines…'. The rear fold-in nevertheless carries an advertisement for the third impression of Karen Blixen's 'Out of Africa'! With striking dustwrapper artwork by Michael Wickham. Very scarce, especially in this condition.
