Wraps a little faded and rubbed with small splits at the spine base. 'SC' in red pencil to front wrap. 136pp. unmarked. Cancelled rubber stamp to title page. Inside the front wrap is an inscription: "Geskenk aan Genl. Vorster van die Biblioteek 26 Jan '44". This was almost certainly John Vorster who went on to become Prime Minister of South Africa from 1966 to 1978. The library concerned would have been that of the camp in Koffiefontein where Vorster was interned during WWII. Interesting association copy. Scarce title. J H Kok paperback

Bpk. tussen 1968 en 1972 die lig laat sien het as deel van hierdie maatskappy se diens vir gemeenskapsontwikkeling. 'n Hele aantal mense het meegewerk aan die sukses van hierdie boekdele en aan almal word op die gepaste plek erkenning gegee. Die produksie van hierdie boekdele oor so 'n periode het dit moontlik gemaak om 'n enorme verskeidenheid van illustrasiemateriaal byeen te bring en bowendien kon alles sover moontlik en gerade in kleur gedruk word. Vir 'n beperkte mark soos Suid-Afrika is dit wel 'n aansienlike prestasie. Die skryf en uitgee van die boekdele oor so 'n lang periode het egter meegebring dat sekere dele van hierdie werk nie gemetriseer is nie. In hierdie oorgangsperiode is dit wel nie so belangrik nie en ons glo dat die Suid-Afrikaanse publiek die klein vergrypie sal vergewe in die lig van wat gebied word! Die vyf boekdele wat so uitgegee is word nou aangebied as een boek met die oorkoepelende titel Die Bewaring van ons Erfenis. Ons erfenis in Suid-Afrika is nie alleen ou geboue nie - dit is bowenal ons ryke natuurerfenis wat so dikwels bedreig word deur onkunde of hebsug.
