1916réf. 160361Toronto: McClelland Goodchild & Stewart 1916. First Edition. Hardcover. Very good. xii 159 p. 20 cm. Blue cloth hardcover. Gilt lettering on front black only on spine. Wrapped in mylar removed for photo. Fore and bottom edges rough trimmed. Gilt wearing off front lettering but all letters visible. Spine a bit darkened. Spine ends a bit worn. A clipping of Montgomery's poem "Remembered" has been inserted. The only volume of poetry that Lucy Maud Montgomery produced. This was her first work published by Canadian publisher McClelland Goodchild and Stewart and she was probably attracted to them because of their willingness to issue a collection of her poems. M.G.&S. may have agreed to publish this book as a way of luring her away from her Boston publisher who had refused even to consider this project. All these poems were previously published in magazines. McClelland, Goodchild & Stewart hardcover
