Marshall Howard Saville 1867-1985 Curator American Museum of Natural History specialising in Meso-American and South American archaeology. "As my travels in Spanish South America extended over a period of six years it may be fairly hoped that the knowledge of some of the places here described is not superficial and professional work often procured adventures which if ill paid in money were rich in incident. The photographs have been selected from those taken during my travels in the hope they may convey to the reader a more vivid perception." John Bale, Sons & Danielsson hardcover
