Ilk donem Osmanli mizah basini tipki cok dilli yazi sistemleri gibi dolasik ortak bir tarihsel sureci paylasiyordu. Bu inceleme ZvarcakhosÕu Osmanli ilk donem mizah basininin bir bileseni olarak ele aliyor. Istanbul ve BuyukadaÕdaki gunluk yasamin eglenceli bir resmini cizerek ÒalafrangaÓ konusunu eksenine alan Zvarcakhos mizah basininin ilk donemine bu yuzyildaki sosyal donusume baskin ideolojiye ve dusunce dunyasina dair bazi ipuclari sunuyor.
