1947rif. 10027"DRAWBACK TO MURDER" by Willetta Ann Barber and R.F. Schabelitz with its original dust jacket. 1947 1st edition 1st printing with the Scribner's seal and "A" first printing designation printed on the copyright page; Charles Scribner's Sons; New York. The book is part of the husband and wife writing duo's popular Christopher "Kit" Storm mystery series. The story revolves around a series of slayings taking place among a tight-knit group of artists and models in New York City. Christopher Storm is a Manhattan commercial artist who works part-time as a police artist. He is brought into the investigation to help crack the case. What makes this book and the rest of the series unique is that the plot relies heavily on visual clues. Kit uses his sketch pad to make detailed drawings directly at the scenes of the crimes. By analyzing these drawings he is able to piece together the evidence and unmask the identity of the murderer. The actual physical books featured integrated illustrations drawn by Schabelitz himself allowing readers to follow along with the visual clues. The story is narrated by Sheridan "Sherry" Locke Kit's romantic partner later wife a children's book author who acts as the verbose documentarian of Kit's murder investigations. They could have imperfections such as creasing fanning inscriptions margin notes yellowing staining on edge or cover or pages bumps scuffs etc etc sometimes multiple of these. It's a wide category that encompasses anything that isn't almost-new down to anything that is slightly better than poor. We would NOT recommend gifting Good books - these should be considered reading copies. Our books are dispatched from a Yorkshire former cotton mill. We list via barcode/ISBN so please note that the images are stock images and may not be the exact copy you receive furthermore the details about edition and year might not be accurate as many publishers reuse the same ISBN for multiple editions and as we simply scan a barcode or enter an ISBN we do not check the validity of the edition data when listing.
