March 13 1911. "My Dear Mrs. Gibbs: I thought it might interest you to see brought together the zoological papers that have been written by holders of the Virginia Barret Gibbs Scholarship since 1894. I trust you will accept the two volumes which I am sending with this as a slight token of appreciation of the aid which this scholarship has already afforded to students in Zoology. When I think of the years to come and the many more men who will be helped while devoting themselves to biological problems I am sure the grounds are ample for offering you as I do my hearty congratulations. Quite by chance I learned through Miss Clark that your birthday is near at hand so I am taking the liberty of making that day the date of this little remembrance. With high esteem and good wishes I am as ever Sincerely E.L. Mark." THEODORE K.
