Images: https://www.tisbooks.pub/products/tis03 . "For TIS03 - the third installment of the TIS multi-artist series - we've taken advantage of this eventful time in history to expand beyond the TIS collective and include new friends and fresh outlooks. Social and political upheaval a tumultuous election and a crippling pandemic that's forced the majority of the world to shelter in place: all of this has left many artists in various states of making. After months of self-isolation some photographers began to slowly venture out again ready to see and feel this new world of ours photographically. Others took advantage of the extra hours spent at home to photograph family or to travel in time via sifting through archives; many explored new ways to work without regular access to their studio or darkroom. Taken together the books in TIS03 exhibit an irrepressible artistic ingenuity born of necessity. Individually they are cohesive worlds created as provisional response to chaos and confusion. TIS03 is twelve books by twelve artists sold both as a box set and as individual titles. Sasha Arutyunova Shelter; Tim Carpenter A month of Sundays; J Carrier The Folly; Nelson Chan Quicksand; Rose Marie Cromwell Eclipse; Tenzing Dakpa Dungkhar; Adler Guerrier Sheltering in so we can begin again; Will Matsuda The Potter Becomes the Pot; Yael Malka The Views; Andrea Modica 2020; Aaron Turner Black Alchemy: if this one thing is true; Carl Wooley Beforetimes." -Publisher's text. Catalogue Raisonne Catalog Raisonné Complete Works Life and Work Raisonnee -- with a bonus offer-- - May be EITHER: out of print OOP and extremely rare in this pristine condition; signed by author or contributor; or a first or special edition; inquire for details; One of the most recognizable of American artists and one of America's most innovative printmakers Jim Dine has created a multidisciplinary oeuvre tied together by his continued use and reinvention of familiar imagery. Hearts bathrobes skulls tools the Crommelynck gate Venus de Milo self-portraits plants and flowers--Dine infuses these personal metaphors with new meanings and continually depicts them in novel and diverse contexts. Over time some of these motifs have become recognized as clearly symbolic: the bathrobe figures as a self-portrait the heart as a symbol of his love for wife Nancy. And also over time Dine has added new images to his iconic repertory. Mountains ancient Greco-Roman sculpture owls hands trees apes Pinocchio and ravens figure prominently in the prints he has made since 1985. This catalogue raisonne fully documents Dine's evolving imagery and technical experimentation from the late 80s through the millennium including his limited-edition illustrated books and establishes his absolute maturity as an artist. A glossary of printmaking terms a selected print exhibition history and bibilography and a discussion of his poetry and literary leanings make this catalog complete. By Elizabeth Carpenter with an essay by Joseph Ruzicka. Foreword by Richard Campbell and Evan M. Maurer. 9.5 x 12 in. 400 color illustrations . 2002. 0912964863 . Institute hardcover
