Many black & white reproductions of vintage photographs of Maurice Utrillo and Lucie Valore, and other friends and colleagues, many from Jean Fabris' collection. The sale consisted of the Paul Petrides Collection of 30 paintings by Maurice Utrillo (1883- 1955). Illustrated in color, fold-outs. Each lot with an extensive entry. Sono: 11 litografie originali di cui 1 a colori, in tavole f.t.; 1 ritratto-antiporta in litografia realizzato da Suzanne Valadon (madre dell’artista), 1 vignetta al frontespizio, 10 testate e 10 finali in “héliogravure” + altro ritratto di Utrillo (in bianco e nero su fondo ocra, in litografia, sempre di Suzanne Valadon). Il secondo contiene 3 suites delle illustrazioni: una “sur japon ancien” (10 tavole in nero, 1 a colori, 1 con ritratto) - una “sur chine” (idem) - una “sur japon impérial rayée” delle 10 in nero. Cfr. Benezit,XIII, p. 929-30, che naturalmente cita questo importante studio per l’arte di Utrillo (1883-1955), scritto da Carco. Superba edizione originale di 105 esempl. numerati. Il nostro, 93, appartiene alla tiratura di 95 “sur japon Shidzuoka avec trois suites”. Timbro e firma di appartenenza sulla prima carta bianca; bell’esemplare, molto ben conservato.
