The introduction comprises side-stitched copy in gilt-decorated red paper wrappers. The facsimile is quarter black leather over gilt-decorated turquoise cloth boards; boards slightly dust-dulled with faint edgewear only. Both text blocks remain well-preserved: tight bright clean and especially sharp-cornered. The slip case of gilt-blocked cloth boards is somewhat dust-dulled and edgeworn with the top front edge broken and the top panel pivoting on the rear. A charming item overall with very well-preserved volumes. Physical description; complete in 2 volumes ; 44 cm. Notes; A facsimile of the 1498 Nuremberg edition with German text. The introduction with minor alterations is from Panofsky's The life and work of Albrecht Dürer; notes and a select bibliography have been added by the editors. Reca il monogramma di Albrecht Dürer e la data (1512). Si tratta di una copia in controparte, di ottima fattura, d'una incisione della serie "Die Kupferstichpassion" di Dürer. Applicata su cartoncino moderno, con incollatura parziale, facilmente rimuovibile. Ottime condizioni. Abbiamo rintracciato una incisione analoga a Cremona, al Gabinetto delle Stampe del Museo Civico, anch'essa senza indicazione d'autore.
