Occasional faint foxing to some plates otherwise a fine example of this book in decoratively-gilt full morocco text and plates are generally clean and crisp. Binding: Contemporary gilt morocco with intricate floral motifs within a double-lined gilt border spine with six densely gilt compartments of raised gilt bands and gilt floral motifs gilt title on two inner dentelles gilt all edges gilt. Notes: W.H. Bartlett was one of the most prolific and popular European traveler-artists of the 19th century. The engravings show views of the Danube starting from Ulm and going on to Passau Vienna Budapest Belgrade and finally ending at Sulina at the mouth of the Danube. Size: 4to. Title page has woodcut device and there are innumerable woodcuts throughout all detailing the scenery around the Danube River.
