'Angela Ricci Lucchi describes her work as follows: "I was already very interested in the use of the media and I started a kind of 'investigation' later published by the Pari & Dispari editions which consisted of asking everyone a series of essential questions: what is the rose for you Among others I asked Zavattini who sent me a beautiful letter. And I also asked Jervant whom I had just met. I started sending this message in June 1974; the operation continues to this day. Known and unknown people responded to me. Anyone who received these letters could send their reply. I didn't make any critical choices. This collection is in fact ordered only according to the date of the postmarks. In the same period the artist created numerous experimental and avant-garde cinema short films the so-called "scented films" Alice scented with roses 1975 the screening of which is accompanied by the diffusion of aromatic essences that interact with the film. The work is exhibited at the Mart museum in Rovereto and in 2018 it was part of the exhibition dedicated to "Rosanna Chiessi. This essay offers a reinterpretation of the early artistic work of Yervant Gianikian and Angela Ricci Lucchi through the lens of analogical thought exploring the meaning and structure of their initial creations. Starting from Ricci Lucchi's 1976 inquiry "Cos'è la rosa per te" it reconstructs an aesthetic and methodological path that intertwines fairy tale synesthesia and cataloging placing their work in dialogue with the contemporary scenes of independent cinema and visual art. The essay argues that for the two artists the film should be understood as a field of forces in which things are no longer fixed entities but relational nodes. In this light the question "cos'è la rosa per te" – "What is the rose for you" – becomes emblematic of a heuristic method based on plurality incompleteness and the tension between elements proposing analogy as the central epistemological structure of their artistic project. Si laureò in chimica pura presso l'Università degli Studi di Torino e nel 1897 in Medicina e Chirurgia. Cominciò l'attività professionale nel 1889 come assistente alla Scuola di Chimica Cavour a Torino; sei anni più tardi divenne assistente di chimica pura all'Università di Torino; dal 1896 al 1900 è stato assistente alla direzione del laboratorio alla Clinica Medica Generale di Torino per poi diventare assistente volontario di anatomia Patologica nel 1901. I suoi primi studi furono pubblicati nel 1897 dalla Clinica Medica Generale dell'Università degli Studi di Torino in un manuale. Fu il primo a stabilire in maniera esauriente l'azione terapeutica e biologica della lecitina e sono famose le sue ricerche sull'azione terapeutica della colesterina e derivati, che introdusse in terapia nel 1912-1914; quelli sui fermenti digestivi in toto; quelli sulla formazione dell'alcool nell'organismo animale per opera del pancreas e la successiva azione similare dell'insulina; sull'azione biologica dei lipoidi; sull'azione dei gas asfissianti; quelli sull'azione fotogenetica di certe sostanze organiche dopo l'irradiazione (fosfatidi, cerebrosidi, clorofilla); quelli intesi alla dimostrazione della formazione della follicolina nell'uovo in incubazione a spese della colesterina; sul potere radioattivo delle pozzolane, e molto altro ancora. Il principio delle scoperte di Cesare Serono fu sempre fondato sulla base della medicina biologica, ossia la cura di patologie e stati morbosi con prodotti estratti dallo stesso organo di animali sani, scientificamente trattati. A very good copy with some cosmetic wear. Essentially an overview of politics in the Western World viewed as a descent into tyranny and decadence and desperately requiring the swift action of the Christian American Right to rectify the situation. Not terribly helpful geopolitically seeing as anyone not actually American and Christian is viewed as either openly evil or credulous and open to manipulation the continents of Africa and non-Communist Asia apparently fall into the latter category but very interesting from the perspective of anyone seeking to understand the mindset of Rev. Kruse and his enthusiasts which is essentially rooted in colonialism just for gods rather than empires.
