1926réf. 71491New York: George H. Doran 1926. Hardcover. Good. First edition. Two volumes. Small tears at the spine ends some scuffing and modest stains on the front board of Volume One a good set lacking the dustwrappers. Intriguingly Inscribed by the author: "Cordially Inscribed for Dr. Jerome Salinger by the author. Hervey Allen. Poughkeepsie N.Y. April 2 1927." We cannot identify the recipient other than to speculate that he might have been a relative of another New York-dwelling Jerome Salinger better known as J.D. Salinger who was decidedly not a doctor and indeed would have only been eight years old at the time. George H. Doran hardcover books
