1983260 pages including index and black and white plates. The death in London by hanging of one of Italy's leading bankers, Roberto Calvi, focused the world's attention upon the affairs of the Banco Ambrosiano, a bank closely involved in Vatican finance. After intensive research, including interviews with leading figures in the Italian financial world, with Calvi's family and associates in the United States and with bankers in the capitals of Europe, author has been able to unravel the complex story of Roberto Calvi and his world, and to piece together this amazing chronicle of financial malpractice in high places. Moderate wear. Clean and unmarked. Dust jacket now preserved in archival-grade Brodart. A sound copy. Book
1977241 pages. Marriage Encounter remains one of the few truly ecumenical, interfaith communities to emerge from Vatican II. It is simple and God-centered. This work presents a typical ME weekend in depth, excerpting the presentations of the Team Couples, quoting from their own on-the-spot notebooks, and following the outline of the original manual of Father Calvo, the Spanish Priest who founded the movement. Book clean, bright and unmarked with very light wear. Average wear to dust jacket which is now preserved in archival-grade Brodart. A quality copy. Book
2006248 pages. Index. Bibliography. "A study of the founders and supporters of oppressive political regimes. Lobaczewski's approach analyzes the common factors that lead to the propagation of man's inhumanity to man... The original manuscript of this book went into the furnace minutes before a secret police raid in Communist Poland. The second copy was sent via courier to the Vatican. Its receipt was never acknowledged - the manuscript and all valuable data lost. In 1984, the third and final copy was written from memory by the last survivor of the original researchers. Zbigniew Brzezinski blocked its publication. After half a century of suppression, this book is finally available." - from back cover. Book
