1842ref. 32550Np possibly Milledgeville. ca.1842. A report of the minority members of the Georgia state committee on the state of the republic expressing support for Sen. John Berrien's beleaguered position regarding the national bank. Berrien supported the Whig position on the bank question and is so doing broke step with most of his fellow southerners. The present report takes pains to describe Berrien's chief responsibility to the federal government rather than the state and that his disagreement over the banking issue with members of the state government does not constitute a breach of duty. Scarce. Not on OCLC. Self-wrappers. Several leaves loose. Moderate edge wear creasing and browning. Recto of first leaf with two small holes affecting two words. Good. DAB II p.225. unknown
