Sehr guter Zustand - Im Frühjahr 1433 erarbeiteten die Konzilsväter von Basel das Dekret über die Wahlen, das die päpstlichen Reservationsrechte bei der kirchlichen Stellenbesetzung weitgehend ausschaltete.1 Dabei drang die Meinung durch, daß der Papst aus gewichtigen Gründen auch weiterhin eingreifen dürfe. Vergeblich hatte eine andere Gruppe der Konzilsväter eine Nichtigkeitsklausel ( clausula irritans ) in das Dekret einbauen wollen, die dem Papst auch dieses Recht der Epikie absprechen und alle auf solche Weise vorgenommenen Stellenbesetzungen für ungültig erklären sollte. Das dementsprechend geforderte Dekret nannte man kurzerhand ,Decretum irritans4. Trotz seiner Zurückweisung im Jahre 1433 war die Diskussion damit aber noch nicht abgeschlossen. Anfang 1436 erfolgte auf dem Konzil ein neuer Vorstoß, der indessen ebenfalls scheiterte. Noch in seinem ,Dialogus‘ von 1441 kommt Nikolaus von Kues auf die nun schon mehrere Jahre zurückliegende Basler Diskussion zu sprechen. Die Frage nach dem Basler ,Decretum irritans4, die er sich im ,Dialogus durch den ,Schüler vorlegen läßt, deutet auf nähere persönliche Beschäftigung des Cusanus mit diesem Problem hin. In der Tat ging er schon in ,De concordantia catholica4 darauf ein. Sein Lehrer Heymericus de Campo versah die etwa zur gleichen Zeit von ihm dem Konzil vorgelegte ,Disputatio de potestate ecclesiastica4 mit einem am 10. Februar 1434 ebenfalls in Basel vollendeten Nachtrag, in dem auch vom ,Decretum irritans die Rede ist.7 Nikolaus bekundete sein Interesse daran durch Randnotizen zu den entsprechenden Stellen in seinem Exemplar. Frontespizio con impresa tipografica incisa in xilografia. Antichi ex-libris manoscritti al foglio del titolo, alcuni dei quali parzialmente cassati. Testo su due colonne, capilettera istoriati in xilografia. Al verso dell'ultima c. di "Castigationes", impresa tipografica xilografica con variante di quella del titolo, sempre con un pappagallo sorreggente un ramo nel becco. L'angolo inferiore delle pp. con colonne 173-204 è ricostitutito, con perdita di numerose lettere di testo. Aloni e fioriture sparse di lieve entità. Numerosi errori nella numerazione delle colonne. Rara riedizione cinquecentesca di Basilea della principale opera del Perotto, costituente un amplissimo e dottissimo commento agli "Epigrammata" di Marziale e, assieme, un dizionario ragionato della lingua latina; in essa sono anche conservati alcuni frammenti di classici che altrimenti sarebbero andati perduti. Alla "Cornucopia" sono aggiunti altri scritti di ordine linguistico-filologico, tra cui il "De Lingua Latina" di Varrone, il "De Analogia" dello stesso, il "De Verborum Veterum Significatione" di Sesto Pompeo Festo, il "De Proprietate Sermonum" di Nonio Marcello. Il Perotto (Fano, 1429-Sassoferrato, 1480), formatosi a Mantova e a Ferrara con Vittorino da Feltre e Guarino da Verona, fu umanista di notevole valore, procuratore di Enrico VI presso la Curia romana, vescovo di Ely, segretario apostolico e poi arcivescovo di Siponto. Carta topografica (Tav. II) del territorio dei dintorni di Belfort e di Basilea ai confini di Francia e Germania. La mappa del Dufour è basata sulle misurazioni dei cantoni e della Confederazione svizzera e fu costruita negli anni 1845 al 1865 dall'Ufficio Topografico Federale Svizzero sotto la guida di Guillaume Henri Dufour. Le riprese e gli studi originali di questa carta del Dufour furono disegnati in scala 1:25 000 (per la pianura) e 1:50 000 (per le montagne). La pubblicazione è stata edita in scala 1:100 000, per cui il territorio della Svizzera venne realizzato su 25 fogli. Il terreno montuoso venne disegnato, in particolare nella carta del Dufour, con ombre particolari che danno il senso dell’altezza. Questo cosiddetto "stile svizzero" ha ricevuto negli anni del XIX secolo un sacco di elogi e portato l'Ufficio Topografico Federale Svizzero a diversi riconoscimenti internazionali. Autore: Dufour G.
