Prima edizione di questa importante monografia del Raimondi (Milano, 1824 -San Pedro de Pacasmayo, 1890) sulle ricchezze minerali del Perù, catalogo ragionato di 652 varietà di minerali presenti nella nazione sudamericana. Il grande viaggiatore, scienziato e patriota milanese, in seguito alla sua partecipazione alla difesa di Roma, nel 1849, nelle schiere di Mameli e di Manara, dovette esulare, e, all'inizio del 1850, si imbarcò alla volta del Perù. Nel Sud America, dove trascorse quasi tutto il resto della propria vita e dove si spense, egli compì importantissimi viaggi esplorativi e ricerche scientifiche. Mineria iberoamericana, 1768, p. 104. He was forced to flee to Europe when his treaty with the Spanish was found wanting. Provenance: Francisco Pérez de Velasco his stamp former Peruvian Consul to New York a dealer who sold to Hiram Bingham an "unprecedented cache of. very early colonial Peruvian. documents and whose remaining collection on Peru was in "Cátalogo de la Biblioteca Peruana Propiedad de Dn. Francisco Perez de Velasco" Lima 1918. Scarce. OCLC reports only microfiche copies but it is part of the Yale series of Latin American pamphlets and BN Peru also has a copy.
