The trip apparently had commercial purposes and there is reason to connect the traveller with the New York-based “Grace & Co.” a major maritime steamship company in Peru and a founder of the “Panagro” airline which connected the United States with the west coast of South America in 1928. The album contains over a dozen portraits of the compiler’s companions on board the “Santa Luisa” which belonged to the “Grace & Co.” and the same people in Lima with three photographed at their office desks.
