The cargo was brought in on the Bark Roanoke Peter Duncan master; and in turn was shipping onboard the Thomas Dallett for La Guayra & Puerto Cabello Venezuela. The quantities are calculated for customs duties free in this case and signed by the agent in charge in manuscript. Form with a small ship woodcut; printed and sold by John C. Clark & Son. 1857réf. 030274New York City NY: J.H. Colton & Co. 1857. Hand-colored map; with decorative border. Separate sheet with demographic details on these nations. Map printed for use in Colton's uncommon Advertising Atlas of America 1857. American companies used this atlas as a vehicle to promote their businesses. The atlas made use of the same maps used in the 1855 printing with many of them having that imprint date. Richard Swainson Fisher authored the accompanying geographical statistical and historical descriptions. Approx. 15" x 18 1/2" overall size. Some edge-toning to the paper old edge-discoloration. Bold bright and lovely map of these half dozen South American countries from the 1864 edition of "Mitchell's New General Atlas Containing Maps of the Various Countries of the World Plans of Cities Etc." Upper third contains "Map of New Granada Venezuela and Guiana" lower left third contains "Map of Peru and Equador" and lower right third contains "Map of the Argentine Confederation." Tomo primero: " La colonia, la independencia, la Gran Colombia " di 716 pp. con xiii tavole in nero non comprese nel testo e 5 carte del territorio più volte ripiegate in chiusura del volume. Un piccolo strappo interessa la prima pagina della prefazione e impedisce la lettura della parte sinistra delle prime sette righe. Tomo segundo: " Reconstitucion de la Republica, la oligarquia conservadora " di 658 pp. Tomo tercero: " La oligarquia liberal " di 472 pp. Leggere fioriture e alcune piccole mende riguardano le copertine di ogni volume causa il tipo della carta a suo tempo utilizzato, il testo è pulito e sempre fruibile. L'opera è comunque in un buono stato complessivo, spedizione in 24 ore dalla conferma dell'ordine.
