Following the dictionary section are recipes and then a section of lessons really menus with a number of dishes each. Co-fondateur de la revue "Cuisine Pratique". Il fut fondateur de l'Académie et de l'Ecole de Cuisine". Il écrivit aussi dans la revue gastronomique "La Cuisine des Familles" dirigée par Jeanne Savaroin en 1905. Il partagea les idées d'une "société nouvelle" de Jean Jaurès. Notre exemplaire est présenté en broché comme sorti lors de sa parution ! (RARE sous cette forme !). Ce traité reste un des meilleurs livre de cuisine du début du XXe siècle sur la cuisine et la pâtisserie ! Très RARE Très bon état des couvertures et du papier, les cahiers n'étant pas coupés; traces des agrafes à travers le papier des dos.

Peu courante 1ère édition de cet ouvrage du futur grand géographe libertaire Elisée RECLUS (1830-1905): en exil après 1851, il entreprend un très long voyage (Londres, Irlande, Etats-Unis, Mexique, Amérique centrale) qui le mènera, en 1855, en Nouvelle Grenade (Colombie), dans le massif de la Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, où il tentera vainement, sans capitaux suffisants et malade, de fonder une exploitation agricole. De retour en France en 1857, il exploitera ses notes de voyages et publiera ses premiers articles, géographiques et politiques, sur le continent américain (dont "La Nouvelle Grenade, paysages de la nature tropicale", en 1859), puis, en 1861, ce "Voyage à la Sierra-Nevada de Sainte Marthe."
