ref. 51-6257Paris: circa 1907. Original drawing for a poster or publication.before the text. Two marginal tears with loss.40 x 30.7 cm. » Benoît XVIExpertise by: Elvire Poulain-Marquis Cabinet Poulain Paris.Pharmacist and politician Savignol was also highly appreciated for his caricatures. He collaborated on the most important journals in this genre at the beginning of the 20th century such as Le Rire Le Sourire Les Galonnés etc. and also L'Assiette au Beurre for which from 1907 he created the character of César Tripet a disrespectful and humorous vagabond. The creation of this character earned him great admiration particularly from Nadar who became one of his great friends. Paris: circa 1907 unknown
