1988Best.-Nr. 6346Milwaukee Wisconsin United States: Harley-Davidson Inc. 1988. hardcover. Very Good. N/A. 1988 Owner's Manual: Fahrerhandbuch / Manual del Propietario / Manuel du Propriétaire Harley-Davidson Publication: Milwaukee Harley-Davidson Inc. 1988 Formatting: 8vo multiple paginations. Condition Report: Very Good. The softcover binding remains notably secure and tightly bound resisting the heavy creasing spine wear and loose pages typical of frequently referenced mechanical manuals. The external wraps retain bright original colours with sharp edges and corners demonstrating only minimal unobtrusive shelf-wear. The rear cover bears a very faint negligible moisture mark to the lower-left quadrant though this does not penetrate to the interior. Internally the text block is exceptionally clean entirely free from the workshop grease fingerprints and smudging that plague similar motoring literature exhibiting only the faintest trace of natural age-toning to the page peripheries. Catalogue Note: This multi-lingual Owner’s Manual OEM Part No. 99965-88 was issued by the manufacturer to accompany their Touring Custom and XLH Sportster model lines. Printed in a four-column format containing English German Spanish and French it was distributed explicitly for the international and European export markets. Original factory-issued motorcycle literature from the late 1980s has grown increasingly scarce particularly examples that have survived without sustaining heavy workshop damage. This specific variant is highly desirable for collectors seeking complete period accuracy for export-market motorcycles offering comprehensive specification data maintenance schedules and identification charts. An essential factory-original operational guide for the preservation and maintenance of late-1980s Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Covering the Touring Custom and XLH series this uncommon multi-lingual manual provides international riders with the authoritative specifications and safety procedures required to authenticate and service their classic machines. Targeted at the automotive service industry the vehicle was designed to be towed behind a car to be delivered to a customer; when the car was delivered at its destination the driver would unhitch the Servi-Car and ride back to the garage. For this reason it was available with a tow bar at the front and a large 60 Ah battery. In addition to its intended use for car delivery and retrieval the Servi-Car was also popular as a utility vehicle for small businesses and mobile vendors. They proved to be particularly popular with the police departments some of which still used Servi-Cars into the 1990s." from Wikipedia; B&W Illustrations; Pictured 9/24/22 . 1942.
