È il primo libro che ho cominciato a scrivere ben 5 anni fa, ma che arriva come terzo delle mie opere. Il viaggio dal Mali in Burkina Faso, Algeria, Libia, la detenzione, il lager, il mar mediterraneo ed il naufragio prima di attraversare. Foto e interviste raccolte di nascosto nel carcere e nel lager rischiando la propria vita. La decisione di pubblicare questo libro nasce dalla volontà di rendere testimonianza diretta della realtà disumana che centinaia e migliaia di donne, bambine, bambini e uomini vivono in quel luogo che va oltre l'orrore che è la Libia, nella speranza di poter incidere anche in minima parte nell'opinione nazionale e internazionale, che per la maggior parte ancora è cieca e sorda alle richieste di aiuto. Un libro documentario con foto e video delle condizioni disumane in cui versano le persone sull'altra sponda.

2016Emergenza Libia è un progetto nato dalla voglia di raccontare sotto diverse angolature, punti di vista e professioni, gli ultimi cinque anni di storia del Paese nordafricano. Dalla guerra civile del 2011 e l’uccisione di Muammar Gheddafi, al fallito colpo di mano con cui lo scorso ottobre gli ultimi irriducibili dell’ex presidente Khalifa Ghwell puntavano a rovesciare il Governo di accordo nazionale di Fayez al Sarraj, impegnato in una complicata ricerca di legittimazione interna. Processo in cui l’Italia punta a rivestire un ruolo di primo piano in termini di dialogo e cooperazione. Un lustro di conflitti civili, divisioni etniche e politiche, caos, vuoti di potere e migrazioni di massa, culminati con la guerra per la liberazione di Sirte, terza capitale dello Stato Islamico e la spaccatura della Libia nei due blocchi Est-Ovest. Una divisione riflesso di lacerazioni intestine antiche e nuove, contrapposizioni regionali e internazionali, che oggi più che mai stanno segnando le sorti di popoli e nazioni che conservano l’antico privilegio di affacciarsi sul Mar Mediterraneo.
