Et celui de sa mère : Jallobert car il y était très attaché. Ce qui était rare à l’époque » souligne Véronique Kahn chargée du service conservation et animation du patrimoine.S’il tenait tant au nom de sa mère c’est parce que cette dernière était la descendante d’une vieille famille d’armateurs et marins malouins. Ainsi un de ses descendants Macé Jallobert accompagna Jacques Cartier lors de ses voyages au Canada.Mais ce n’est pas l’univers marin qui inspira Paul Paris-Jallobert. En 1857 il entra au grand séminaire de Rennes et fut ordonné prêtre le 20 décembre 1862. Un ouvrage de 800 pages.« Parfois quelques petites erreurs se sont glissées dans la retranscription car cela part d’un document manuel constate-t-elle. Trésoreries doyens prieurs… Tous les noms sont retranscrits ! Il a dû en passer du temps ! Pour ceux qui s’intéressent à l’histoire de Vitré c’est presque une bible. »Ailleurs sur le web.Paul Paris-Jallobert fut également vicaire à Vieux-Vieil en 1882 puis devint recteur de Balazé en 1888 commune où il mourut le 17 février 1905 et où il est enterré.
