E anche come una scuola di metodo, come affermazione di un'idea creativa e democratica della didattica e dell'apprendimento, come prezioso riferimento etico e deontologico per il futuro musicista. Ma Mikrokosmos è anche una vera "summa" dell'arte compositiva e pianistica di Bartók: l'ultima parte del volume contiene un'accuratissima guidaall'analisi e allo studio di tutti i 153 pezzi della raccolta che sono poi eseguiti integralmente dallo stesso autore in una registrazione scaricabile gratuitamente su musicheria.net.
