2024réf. 1495EXCEPTIONALLY SCARCE SIGNED! SOON TO BE DONALD TRUMP'S NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISOR! FLORIDA CONGRESSMAN replacing Ron Desantis when he became Governor. FIRST EDITION first printing. Full number line present. Book is brand new and unread. Opened only for signing at event at Ronald Reagan's Presidential Library in his first appearance following publication just three days later! Personally hand signed directly to the full title page by Mike Waltz. NOT inscribed to anyone. NOT a tip in. NOT a bookplate. Dust jacket hand covered in protective archival grade Mylar for many worry free years of reading/collecting! NATIONAL BESTSELLER Congressman and retired Green Beret Mike Waltz shares how the mindset he honed in military service can help anyone―in politics in business or in life―conquer everyday challenges. Up in the mountains of Afghanistan one of Mike Waltz's snipers watched through his scope as a young boy acted as a spotter for the Taliban mortars attacking a Green Beret position. The sniper requested permission to fire. Waltz refused insisting on restraint. The child was spared and the position was held. Later that same day Waltz visited a nearby Afghan village and discovered the Taliban had hanged a boy in front of his family―because the child wasn't willing to fight for them. Restraint is a trait common to Green Berets but rare on the battlefield―and even rarer in today's national political discourse. Now Mike Waltz is a retired Colonel and a U.S. Representative from Florida the first Green Beret ever to be elected to Congress. After twenty-seven years in the Army nearly all of them in the elite Special Forces where he fought America's enemies around the world he has developed a perspective distinct from most―probably all―of his colleagues in politics today. 1915réf. V75330Paris: H.Fleury 1915. Hardcover. Very Good. every opening with color illustrations including 16 large full page illustrations Hansi & Huen. Large Quarto 330-276mm Pictorial cover in colour on pale blue cloth minor edge tanning but illustration and gilt titles all bright and without scratches etc All edges red. Blank leaf half title titlepage Why he wrote this book 100pp. Very mild tanning to margins and two small indentations to haLf title else a lovely crisp copy with fine strong clean paper throughtout. With the original flying storks for which the Alsace is known on the endpapers. Written because the author remembers his student days at the German school at Colmar when the Professor was continually denegrating the Frence student and forced them to learn only about the great history of Prussia. Accordingly during the First World War Waltz has written this book to teach about the great history of the Alsace not through the eyes of the Germans who had controlled Alsace since 1871 - "L Annee Terrible" but through the eyes of the French. Begins in the Gallic period ending with the beginning of WW1 rallying against German imperialism "let us hope for better days my children; because the future does not belong to the good lord and not to the ugly man who is a pan-Germanist". Excellent copy. H.Fleury hardcover
