Illustrated by More Than Two Hundred Engravings and Four Colored Plates." From the Bioregulatory Medical Institute BRMI website: "Edwin Dwight Babbitt was an American physician and early pioneer in the science of chromotherapy color/light therapy. Modern photobiology has its roots in chromotherapy and Dr. Babbitt was instrumental in bringing light and color into the scientific verifiable realm. In 1883. he also organized the New York College of Magnetics later named the College of Fine Forces which offered courses in chromotherapy magnetic therapy and psycho-emotional therapy. Dr. Babbitt developed his theories of color diagnosis and therapy and the electromagnetic spectrum and magnetism. This area of study chromotherapy preoccupied him for the remainder of his life. In 1869 he began treating psycho-emotional disorders in Boston and New York using chromotherapy and magnetic therapy. After several years of experimentation with light color and magnetism in the area of health care he began publishing articles of his research. In 1876 Dr. Babbitt published his classic book on chromotherapy The Principles of Light and Color. He had two purposes for publishing his book. The first was to convince his fellow medical colleagues that he had discovered a valuable therapeutic system. The second was to present to the world a philosophy of light and color that he believed formed and affected fundamental principles of life. The Principles of Light and Color included Dr. Babbitts research into the harmonic laws of the universe the etherio-atomic philosophy of force chromo chemistry chromo therapeutics and the general philosophy of the fine forces magnetism together with numerous discoveries and practical applications. It is illustrated by more than two hundred engravings with four colored plates. Dr. Babbitt studied historical records of color therapy he performed countless experiments on the specific healing effects of color light and magnetism on human biology. Upon his return this report was issued by the Treasury Dept. that detailed his expenditures for scientific instruments and books as well as chronometers. All the devices makers cost specifications etc. are listed in the report offered here. Hassler's account is bound up with two other Treasury Dept. reports of the same year - separately issued - that provide information on the expenses of the Indian Department and general and particular information on trade with the Indian nations. 1777ref. 4896Copenhagen: Claude Philibert 1777. First Edition. Modern paper covered boards. . Very good bright copy with large margins. 4to 2 xvi 8 440 2 - errata 29 copper engraved folding plates and 6 folding tables; retaining the half title. It would be difficult to overestimate the impact of the Seven Years War on the governments and armies of Europe. The book offered here is part of the general reformulation of military theory and weapon development during this critical period. The French army had established an impressive reputation for its effective employment of artillery. In conjunction with new theoretical works like that of Folard or Guibert tactics and strategy of a modern army were recast. Accompanying this was a serious technical debate on the developments of modern artillery of all kinds. Scheel's book is a candid and very thorough inquiry into the manufacture and deployment of artillery and consideration of changes within the French army. The illustrations accompanying the text are detailed technical drawings for guns carriages shot etc. Claude Philibert hardcover books
