1983Institutional library bookplate, sticker and name on front endpaper. No other library markings. Beautiful color illustrations by Slovak artist Alb?n Brunovsk? . Text in Slovak. A 1994 IBBY Hans Christian Andersen Award Nominee (The Hans Christian Andersen Awards are a pair of biennial literary awards by the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY), recognising one living author and one living illustrator for their "lasting contribution[s] to children's literature".) Corners of boards slightly bumped; slight edge wear to dust jacket.
1996Roy. 8vo., First Edition, with numerous photographs in the text; original photographic wrappers, wire-stitched as issued, a near fine copy. Second volume of the author's collections of veterans' stories (the first volume was issued in 1994). The RNPS was unique and boasted its own rules and regs. Manned mainly by ex-fishermen and armed with obsolete weaponry, it suffered heavily in the first years of the war. Still a grossly under-written aspect of the RN in WWII. This second volume is for some reason far scarcer then the first.
