Edward Lytton Wheeler (1854-1885) was a professional 'Sensational Novelist' whose "Deadwood Dick" was the most popular hero of the dime novel era at the end of the 19th century. Through 'Dick' he greatly influenced boys (and men) to view the West as eternally exciting and heroic. W8RtRear
