2009brossura La "Politica" di Johannes Althusius - di cui si propone la prima edizione scientifica integrale italiana con testo latino a fronte - è una pietra miliare del pensiero politico rinascimentale, in particolare calvinista riformato, nonché un'opera di riferimento per la teorizzazione di alcune concezioni chiave della prima modernità. Incentrato sull'idea di sovranità popolare e di resistenza antiassolutista alla tirannide, il pensiero althusiano ha avuto notevole importanza nel contesto della costruzione della sussidiarietà nell'Unione Europea nonché dell'elaborazione del federalismo. Oltre a essere uno dei "classici" del pensiero politico, Althusius sta divenendo uno dei più suggestivi autori di riferimento nella fase di crisi matura dello Stato moderno e di passaggio all'epoca "postmoderna".
