TULLIO PIRONTI 2012 188 PP.

1970ref. 152410N.p.: N.p. 1970. Draft script for an unproduced film attributed to Gore Vidal. From the estate of actress Monique van Vooren. Loosely based on Vidal's 1948 classic landmark novel "The City and the Pillar" one of the few books of the period which portrayed overt homosexuality as natural and without moral ramifications. In 1970 and 1971 Variety International reported Franco Rossellini had been in discussion with Vidal to produce his screenplay adaptation of his 1948 novel with Vidal also slated to direct reiterated in William Hawes' 2008 book "Caligula and the Fight for Artistic Freedom: the Making Marketing and Impact of the Bob Guccione Film." According to Hawe's the production had not gotten off the ground because "funding proved to be insufficient even for a low-budget version." Black titled wrappers. 1958ref. 150861N.p.: N.p. 1958. Vintage reference photograph of Paul Newman and screenwriter Gore Vidal on the set of the 1958 film. Based on the 1955 teleplay "The Death of Billy the Kid" written by Gore Vidal for the NBC television series "The Pilco-Goodyear Television Playhouse" which also starred Paul Newman in the lead. Gore Vidal was reportedly displeased with Penn's adaptation and in 1989 it was remade from his original script as the TNT television film "Billy the Kid" directed by William Graham and starring Val Kilmer and Duncan Regehr. Arthur Penn's directorial debut. William Bonney aka Billy the Kid avenges the murder of a cattle boss friend John Tunstall by the local sheriff in the Lincoln County War and endangers his friends and the territorial amnesty leading to his former friend now sheriff Pat Garrett John Dehner setting out to capture him. Although faring poorly at the US box office at the time of its release it was praised by French critics and is now considered a bold example of an early Revisionist Western. Set in the 1870s New Mexico territory. 8 x 10 inches. Near Fine. Scorcese A Personal Journey Through American Movies. N.p. unknown books
