2006A microbe or microorganism is an organism that is microscopic. Microbes are often illustrated using single-celled, or unicellular organisms; however some unicellular protists are visible to the naked eye, and some multicellular species are microscopic. The study of microbes is called microbiology. Microbes have an important place in all ecosystems and in most higher-order multicellular organisms. For mankind they are important because they participated in the earth’s element cycles, and because of their use in the creation of certain types of food, medicines and biological weapons. An in-depth understanding about the structure, functions and applications these tiny organisms is essentials for all who related to modern life sciences. The present book provides overall information about microbes in a simple style. Besides students and teachers of life sciences, microbiologists, researchers and budding scientists will also find this book of utmost use. 2006Industrial biotechnology can be defined as the use of modern biological life sciences in process of industries. For example, industrial biotechnology has applications in a number of markets that affect our daily lives: in chemicals; in food processing; and in textiles just to name a few. Additionally, industrial biotechnology may not only help with better processing of materials, but it may also play an important role on reducing emissions and increasing efficiencies in the manufacturing process. Industrial biotechnology is transforming many of the world’s industrial operations. The promise of industrial biotechnology has always been to reduce or replace the use of fossil energy and hydrocarbon-based materials with renewable, plant-based resources and naturally occurring microbes to produce more cost-effective and environmental-friendly materials for textiles, fuels, chemicals, pollution prevention and even human pharmaceuticals. Designed for students and practitioners of biotechnology and related fields, this book describes the potential applications of biotechnology in the industrial sector. This unique and up-to-date resource offering readers an innovative and valuable presentation of the subject. 2011This book on geometry reminds us that come what may Mathematics cannot be forgotten. Of course Euclid with his book 'The Elements' is the pioneer of Geometry. No less important are contributions due to Pythagoras and Ptolemy. This book contains several examples both difficult and somewhat easy and their solutions. Theorem no. 76, and solution of isosceles triangles with vertical angles 36 degree may strike excitement in you. Contents:- CONTENTS:- # Preface 9, Introduction 13, 1. 2006A biosensor is a device for the detection of an analyte that combines a biological component with a physiochemical detector component. A typical biosensor consists of three parts: a sensitive biological element, a transducer in between and a detector element. The most widespread example of a commercial biosensor is the blood glucose biosensor, which uses an enzyme to break blood glucose down. In so doing it transfers an electron to an electrode and this is converted into a measure of blood glucose concentration. The high market demand for such sensors has fuelled development of associated sensor technologies. This book covers recent developments that combine the fields of biotechnology and electrical engineering with applications in the detection of very low levels of chemicals and biological agents in the body. It provides an authentic overview of a wide range of biosensing systems, discussing the elements of different transducers used in sensors and the selective elements that are employed. The style is relatively non-mathematical and informal in approach. The contents of the book will be ideal for graduate and postgraduate students of biotechnology, analytical and physical chemistry. It will also be invaluable to all those concerned with the environmental and biomedical applications of such biosensing systems. About The Author:- Raj Mohan Joshi, a renowned lecturer of biotechnology, has had a brilliant academic record. He has worked with various institutes and has participated in many national and international conferences. He is widely traveled. He has presented many paper of international repute in national as well as international seminars, symposia, workshops and congresses.
