2013réf. BN35922Franckh-Kosmos 2013. 2013 2. Auflage . Hardcover. 362 x 437 mm. Fazit: Das ideale Weihnachtsgeschenk. 1978réf. 29897New York: St. Martin's Press. Near Fine. c.1978. Later Printing. Softcover. nice clean copy with just the barest traces of handling wear. Trade PB color photo section Although cover-blurbed as "The Classic Novel That Spawned the Blockbuster Cult Film" this is in reality a novelization of the film the second in Romero's zombie trilogy which was released in 1978. Although this book bears only the 1978 copyright date it's obviously a later printing as indicated by the mention in the rear-cover blurb of the third film of the group DAY OF THE DEAD which didn't come out until 1985. Also the printed price on the rear cover is $8.95 while I believe the price on the 1978 printing was $4.95. And those who might consider themselves sticklers by observing that I've omitted Romero's middle initial A. from the author statement even though it appears on the front cover I refer you to the book's title page which bibliographically speaking is the primary authority which also leaves it out. . 1978réf. 19097USA: St. Martin's Press 1978. A first edition first printing of 'Dawn of the Dead' by George A. Romero published by St. Martin's Press in 1978. A near fine book with some rubbing to the top edge of the boards - without inscriptions. In a near fine gently spine faded dust wrapper which is unclipped showing $7.95. Some rubbing to the corners. George Romero's 'Dawn of the Dead' 1978 is a seminal horror film often hailed as a masterpiece of the zombie genre. This iconic sequel to 'Night of the Living Dead' showcases Romero's sharp social commentary using a shopping mall setting to critique consumerism. The film follows a group of survivors who barricade themselves inside the mall as the undead swarm outside offering a tense and gory exploration of human survival instincts. Romero's groundbreaking special effects and innovative use of practical makeup designed by Tom Savini set a new standard for horror cinema. Dawn of the Dead is celebrated for its blend of horror satire and intense action making it a cult classic that continues to influence filmmakers and pop culture. With its compelling narrative and unforgettable visuals the film remains a cornerstone of zombie lore solidifying Romero's legacy as a pioneer of modern horror. St. Martin's Press hardcover
