Sparrow examines the treatment of angling within British painting situating the subject within the pastoral and sporting traditions of the 18th and 19th centuries. The etching by Wilkinson 1878-1971 a marine painter later known for his First World War "dazzle" camouflage designs for Allied ships was produced specifically for this limited issue. Quarto. Frontispiece etching 119 leaves of plates 32 colour 87 halftone. Original white cloth spine and front cover lettered in gilt blind frame to front cover top edge gilt others untrimmed.
