1935rif. 5506New York: Horace Liveright Inc 1935. Publisher's proof. 8vo 454pp. Plain yellow card wrappers in illustrated jacket attached at spine. Near fine with some light smudging to wrappers and bumped corners final leaves uncut. Jacket sun faded on spine worn and lightly chipped along edges and very good. Uncommon advance proof of this second book from American author Frank Waters. Waters's mother was part Cheyenne Indian and the author's Native American roots became a key influence on much of his writing including the present novel. The jacket on this proof copy is identical to that of the first edition though a slightly smaller trim size. Likely a quite scarce issue. Horace Liveright Inc unknown
