"Cindy Sherman is one of the most influential and consistently original artists of our time. Masquerading as a myriad of characters in front of her own camera Sherman creates invented personas and provocative tableaus that examine the construction of identity and the nature of representation. Her works speak to our increasingly image-saturated world drawing on the unlimited supply of visual material provided by the mass media pop culture and art history. Whether portraying a career girl or a blond bombshell a fashion victim or a clown a French aristocrat or a society lady of a certain age Sherman's work has always had the ability to reflect the ideas of the culture at large and to resonate with a wide audience. Cindy Sherman presents the most up-to-date overview of her groundbreaking career from the mid-1970s to the present and provides new insight into the work of this relentlessly innovative artist." - Publisher. . 1st. 1947réf. 335696Washington DC: Agnes Waters 1947. 8p. pamphlet 5.5x8.5 inches "Native Fascist" penciled in corner otherwise very good. Reprint of Waters' testimony during hearings before the Committee on Foreign Relations discussing a bill to provide aid to Greece and Turkey in March 1947. Numerous passages have been underlined in the reprint with a blurb at the end about the importance of sharing Waters' testimony. Waters has been called the most inflammatory speaker from the Mothers' Movement a network of far-right isolationist women's groups that sought to prevent the US from entering WWII and after it had begun sought withdrawal. Here she argues that foreign aid is a Jewish scheme. "The American Government confronted with forty-odd millions of our own American citizens ill-fed ill-housed and sick sick of wars and never even paid the soldiers' bonus; yet this Senate can find plenty of taxpayers' moneys to rush out of this country to the aid of foreigners in alien lands in the countless billions. And these Jews also gain as brokers on the exchange of this money. Why Because it is a plot schemed up by the Jews to rob us and to follow our cash with our blood. That's why. It is the old Shylock Jew pawnbrokers' business working to take over all nations. There will never be any peace on this earth as long as this Jewish plunder bund exists. Agnes Waters unknown
