From Abstract: This report has been prepared by the Physiology Group of the Panel on Underwater Swimmers as a general review of the current status of underwater physiology. In this discussion of existing information emphasis is placed upon the interrelationship of various factors and upon a number of important questions which appear at present to be unanswered. Large new areas of underwater physiology have been opened by recent studies and should be susceptible to further investigation. The possibility now exists of a breakthrough in one or omore of these areas. There is reason to expect that it will not always be neccessary to base predictions of potential divind depth and duratio upon the physiological barriers which now restrict underwater activity. unknown books

A foundation work in muscle physiology. Inspired by Galvani's discoveries Humboldt undertook a series of experiments to determine the animating force of life. He tested his theories on animals and finally himself - in one gruesome experiment he attempted to anesthetise the exposed nerve of his tooth by the application of copper and zinc plates. There are many original and notable observations recorded in this pioneering work. DSB VI 549 - `55; Heirs #751; Ronalds 351; Wellcome III 314. Decker ... und Rottmann hardcover books

rif. 15731Gebonden modern met behoud van origineel kartonnen omslag 8 106 6 p. ill. Mooi exemplaar. Lit: Van Doorninck II 616; Scheepers II 198. R0899 unknown

Jongejan De humor-cultus der Romantiek in Nederland Zutphen 1933 p.435-440 Vijf anonieme publicaties in één band. W.J.A. H.P. Timmers Verhoeven of W.F.G.L.
